After careful review by our staff, Target Chip Ganassi Racing would incorporate and endorse the Speedlox fittings on it’s open-wheel race cars as part of our hardware package. Speedlox’s value is that it would allow for torsional flex, and twist reduction between hose and hose end. It would enhance the ease of maintenance. It will speed our engine and transmission changes. An elimination of hand tools for hose attachment would increase the life of our Aeroquip lines. An estimate is that on our cars Speedlox fittings would eliminate the use of twenty-two connections with hand tools on just one engine change. In our business, the time that is saved pays dividends by a return to the racetrack quicker than our competitors.
The NHRA has reviewed your quick locking fitting product and have discussed it internally. This letter will confirm that the NHRA technical services department finds your product to be acceptable for NHRA Drag Racing competition. As with all racing components we will monitor its performance in the field. Please inform us of any changes in the technical specifications for your fittings.
As you are aware we have been running our Top Alcohol Funny Car this 2008 racing season with your Speedlox fittings on board. Traveling over 200 miles per hour in just quarter of a mile our race car endures many different effects that put your Speedlox to the test. From strong g-force to major shake, the Speedlox has proven its worth. All of the crew agree that Speedlox is easy and fast to operate and appreciate having it on the car. As the driver I am thankful to have Speedlox as part of the car because I know that no matter what conditions come during a run that the unit will hold tight,
During a recent NHRA Division 6 event I experienced the worst crash of my racing career. The Rupert Racing Top Alcohol Funny Car was destroyed; the body and chassis are un-repairable. Fortunately, I was unhurt in the incident. Also unhurt were the Speedlox fittings on the car. Your fittings survived an almost head on crash into the guard rail. I am happy to inform you that there was not one leak from any of the fittings. Upon inspection all of the Speedlox fittings were just as tight and secure as at the beginning of the run.
We have just installed your Speedlox fittings on our new pavement midget car on the dry sump oils system, fuel system coolant lines and power steering unit. Installation and usage is a breeze. The fittings on the dirt car are working great. We also had the misfortune of a crash that proved the fittings will hold under a series of impacts. No leaks or any problems whatsoever. As a driver, the locking feature provides an extra sense of security knowing that NO fittings will vibrate loose.
Thanks for offering a bulletproof, simple solution to make life in the pits much easier! Our routine maintenance and disassembly is considerably quicker AND simpler.
We started building a new NASCAR Whelen ALL American Late Model in November 2008. We wanted nothing but the best parts going in this car because of the speed and the close competition in the class. The number one concern for us is safety, so when Scott told us about Speedlox fittings it took all the worry out about over tightening the connection and cracking the hose end. Now we do not have to worry about the danger of a leak or dropping out of a race. We’re very impressed with how easy it is to install and remove our hoses with the Speedlox fittings. It’s a great product every racer should be using.
